About Us

The Adaptive Lacrosse Program is the first of its kind in Massachusetts and is open to all communities. This program offers kids with physical and developmental disabilities an opportunity to enjoy the sport in a non-competitive and adaptive environment. Coaches and organizational participants emphasize teamwork, sportsmanship, and skills development on an age and ability appropriate basis.
The program is structured to have middle and high school lacrosse players from any community  teamed as a “buddy” or “mentor” for each participant. These buddy coaches assist in adapting the skills and teaching methods to the needs of each participant’s ability and specific requirements. Equipment and rules are also modified as necessary to meet each player's needs, while maintaining the overall fundamental lacrosse team experience.
